The amazing and barely relevant fact of the day. Why is this stamp like XJ9 doing a handstand? Because they are both Inverted Jennys. Okay, so postage stamp jokes aren't funny, but this is perhaps the most famous stamp mistake in U.S. history and it IS called an Inverted Jenny and that is sort of interesting and I certainly don't see any of you trying to post something new about Teenage Robot day after day after day after day!!!! So there! (P.S. Don't forget there's a brand new episode this Thursday night!) Posted by Hello

Never heard of an Inverted Jenny before(and I can't seem to find a specific connection between the plane and the Blue Girl). Ah well, at least it's best to learn something that we overlook then!

A good history lesson!

There was a type of Biplane called the "Jenny" back in the 20s. Inverted postage stamps of Any kind are quite rare and quite valuable.
Another common thread is that Our Jenny is a Pearl beyond Price also, thanks to the tireless efforts of people like you XJwriter.

Please keep up the good work, and odd bits of trivia. We truly look forward to these postings.

More pointless trivia: I think (based on what I've read about it) that it's actually the red frame that is inverted. When the stamp is displayed in this manner, as it usually is, the entire stamp is actually upside-down (I used to collect stamps back in high-school land).

Another weird fact of the day: In the British Industrial Revolution, there was a man who invented a machine to weave textiles. He named it for his wife, Jenny(I swear his name was NOT Brad of Sheldon). It was called the "Spinning Jenny"!
